My methods
We will discuss what you would like help with, your particular challenges, as well as what has worked for you in the past. If I can help you we can make an appointment, and if I think you would benefit from another professional, I can provide some referral information.

Before our first session, I will ask you to fill out my intake questionnaire to give me a look at the big picture, and help me to prepare for our session. At the beginning of our session, I will ask questions about your needs based on our discussion, as well as the information you have provided on your intake form. I will have you give me a tour of the areas that you would like help with.

Home organization and spatial home arrangement
We will choose an area to start. I will have basic supplies with me (large garbage bags, markers, label maker, cleaning rags).  We will begin by methodically sorting the items in the space. I will provide guidance, education, and support to help you decide what you may no longer need to keep. My goal is to contribute insight to help you to live in your space with less chaos and clutter.

As we work I will ask questions, and determine where objects will best be kept. We will try to put all “like items” together to create a natural ease when looking for belongings.  We will be communicating throughout the process to create a space perfectly designed to fit your needs.

Relocation or downsizing
I will provide boxes and packing material at the going rate with no markup. We will begin our sorting process to eliminate what is not needed in the new location. I will provide input to help you decide which items you cherish or need, and which items you can let go of, through disposal, resale or donations to charity. I will work with you to pack and label all boxes.

I can help arrange to have reliable movers arrive for the move, at their going rate, or you can make arrangements yourself. Once your belongings arrive at their new location, I will provide assistance to unpack everything, and place things in an organized way that will work well for you. I can then break down boxes, and bundle them for curbside recycling, leaving you to enjoy your complete and beautiful new space.

Living well in your home (aging, disability, major life changes)
I will spend time with you to determine what your particular needs are. We will work as a team to find solutions for you to live well in your home. My services will include decluttering and spatial organization, as well as recommendations for equipment or supplies which could simplify your life. Particular areas of focus may be safely navigating your home, bathing, and cooking. I can provide referrals to other services that you may find helpful.

About 20 minutes before our finish time, we will begin to put away the last of our items we have been working on and tidy up. If you have chosen to have me donate goods, we will load my car, so that I can deliver the items to a local charity.  I may then provide you with a list of items you may wish to purchase, or have me pick up for a small fee. At this time I may also provide you with a homework task to keep you motivated, and prepare for our next meeting, if you so desire.
