About Me
About Me

I am a fourth generation Seattleite, born in West Seattle, and I now make my home in Phinney Ridge. I have a beautiful daughter preparing to embark on her college journey. I enjoy the outdoors, cooking, yoga, and spending time with friends and family. I believe that our lives are enhanced by a life-long love of learning.

I received an Associates of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from Green River Community College in 1994. I have over a decade of experience working with clients and families of all ages- hospital based, assisted living and nursing home rehabilitation. A primary focus of occupational therapy is to enable people to be successful in all activities of daily living. As professionals we work with clients to adapt the environment to their needs, whatever their life role may be (parent, student, physically challenged, professional, elder…). As health care changes, therapists have had less opportunity to make home visits and recommendations.

I feel that the marriage of my skills in Occupational Therapy with that of a professional organizer gives me an enhanced view of how to help a variety of people within their homes, with their organizing challenges. I continue to work part time as a certified occupational therapy assistant, and I particularly enjoy family training, empowering clients, and collaborating with colleagues.

I have always had a talent for organizing and spatial design. I enjoy sharing the emotional and practical results of eliminating clutter, and setting up a home that is meaningful and works beautifully for the people residing there. A friend and co-worker encouraged me to think about professional organizing, after we worked together on her home. After researching the field and educating myself, I began my own business, Clarity Home Consulting, in September 2006. I have since joined NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers), and continue to expand my knowledge in the field of professional organizing. I am working towards my 1,500 hours of direct client interaction in professional organizing, so I can sit for the national certification exam.

After researching the pay scale for professional organizers in urban areas, I have chosen to keep my prices within the low range during my inaugural year, while I am experiencing rapid professional growth. I would be pleased to discuss your needs and offer you my professional services. Please call for a free phone consultation.
